Trautman Associates coordinated a six-year phased rehabilitation project for the Ellicott Dormitory Complex at the University at Buffalo’s North Campus.
Working with DASNY, under a term contract, the Ellicott Complex project scope included complete roofing replacement, masonry demolition/restoration and asbestos abatement, toilet room and shower renovations, quad paving repairs and new paving to better accommodate pedestrian footpaths, and also landscape re-grading to provide for better storm water drainage. The work scope also included minor reconfiguration of mechanical and electrical systems necessary for tear offs and application of a new roofing system. To date Trautman Associates has renovated 180 student bathrooms in the six dormitory high-rises that make up the Ellicott Complex and replaced 192,000 SF of roofing.
All demolition and construction work was carried during student recesses and in summer months. Despite a limited time allotment for the extent of work required, Trautman Associates has been able to meet all DASNY deadlines, with dormitory rooms ready to be occupied well before student return dates.
