This new state-of-the-art maintenance and storage facility was built as a replacement to a smaller building. The NYSTA consolidated its Highway and Bridge Maintenance Departments, which are housed in the new structure. The facility contains a truck and equipment garage, carpentry shop, vehicle wash station, and storage areas. The administration offices include conference spaces, employee lunch and locker facilities, and protective equipment distribution. The project also involved the reconfiguration of traffic flow and a fuel island relocation on the site that improved efficiency. The two-phase project was completed in 16 months - on time and within budget. The new facility has improved space and safety efficiency and provided enhanced worker morale.
