Trautman Associates provided architectural, engineering and interior design services for the central intake office renovations for Catholic Charities of Buffalo.
The central intake area is where the non-profit meets with clients. A large volume of clients come in daily, with the non-profit serving nearly 5,000 clients each year.
We prepared four different cost and space options for the non-profit. The option they chose was a combination of implementing custom furniture solutions, rearranging the space and installing portable filtration units. We reconfigured the space to be more welcoming while providing a safe and semi-private meeting area with social workers and other representatives of the charity. Workspaces were rearranged so there are now separate areas for meeting with a client and a private desk space away from visitors for employees.
Plexiglass was installed with a speaker and pass through slots to allow for safe communication and transfer of documents. Full height dividers in between visitor stations will allow for privacy. Workspaces were rearranged so there are separate areas for an initial meeting with a client and a private desk space for more intimate meetings as needed.
Portable DSF filtration was also installed in the waiting and vestibule areas.
