Trautman Associates provided engineering design services for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems of the refurbished Genesee Gateway Building. Renovations included approximately 10,000 SF of office space on the first and second floors housing the U.S. Passport and Department of State offices.
The HVAC system was replaced with two stage water-source heat pumps with a dedicated outdoor air make-up ventilation system. All components of the ventilation system meet or exceed ASHRAE standards. The electrical and lighting systems were updated to meet future tenant needs. High-efficiency lamps and electronic ballasts were installed following IES recommended levels.
Other system updates included plumbing and fire protection that incorporated a sprinkler system for the facility. Updates completed at the Genesee Gateway Building have been submitted for LEED certification under Commercial Interiors.
