Through creative design, an abandoned movie theater was ingeniously converted into a community recreation facility without demolishing the existing structure. The project includes an indoor swimming pool and associated community spaces. The exterior of the theater—a 1940’s ‘Streamline Deco’ style—was renovated in order to preserve its historic presence as a neighborhood icon.
