The environmentally conscious design of this building earned it LEED for Core and Shell certification. The subsequent design of future tenant fit-out areas followed an entirely separate set of programmatic criteria specified to accord the individuated needs of every tenant, from open floor plates to high quality finishes.

This state-of-the-art facility integrated new energy efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, roof assembly, windows and solar panels, operationally specified to optimize the performance of the building:

  • 42% Water use reduction
  • 95% Building reuse
  • 100% Low-Volatile Organic Content (VOC) paints
  • 25 kW energy system

Notable features of the completed 4-story core area include:

  • American Disability Act (ADA) compliant building entry
  • Monitored security in lobby, conference, and breakrooms
  • Contemporary, professional atmosphere in office interiors

The Innovation Center was designed not only to meet a stringent set of criteria for the United States Green Building Council’s rating system but also has received New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) rebates for the integrated energy-saving design features.
